28 Micro-Aggressions & Judgment in 3 Minutes

This poem is reimagined from the stupid phrase:

"Love the sinner, hate the sin."

People who say that usually are hating integral parts of others that are them, like being gay. Christians use that phrase to support their cognitive dissonance that people aren't really queer...or they are because something is wrong with them. Instead of the more logical conclusion: that people are born queer and that it's natural. Like, can we move on from all this homo/transphobic bullshit already and just accept each other?

If you're offended by this poem, that's the point. Imagine hearing this shit all the time and not being treated equally.

Love the Believer, Hate the Belief

I just don’t agree with or believe in

The cisgender, heterosexual lifestyle

I don’t personally identify that way

I used to think I was cis and straight

Why would you keep the gender

You were born as?

That was just a phase I grew out of

Why did you stay in your chrysalis

And shun your wings?

Something must’ve happened to you

As a pupa

You’re just hetero

Because you haven’t loved right

Or had good, toe-curling

Spine-chilling gay sex

Don’t be upsetero

No offense, but I could NEVER

Why would you choose to be that way

When it’s natural to be queer?

Nature incarnate is forever in flux

I pity straight people

Must be so bland and boring

The color sucked dry from your lives

I have friends who aren’t gay though

Even one who isn’t trans!

She’s so pretty for a cis girl

You wouldn’t be able to tell otherwise

Can I ask you deeply

Personal questions

About your sexuality and body?

I know I don’t know you

But you should be shouldering

The weight of my scrutiny

And dishing out free emotional labor

So I can dissect and inspect you

Express your deviancy all you want

Behind closed doors

Just don’t do it in front of me

Or the children!

Don’t shove your sexuality in my face

Or grab a fistful of my shirt

And thrust it down my throat

I can’t even look at

A man and woman kissing

Disgusting!

You’re required to respect

That I don’t accept your existence

Or else YOU are intolerant

This is a two way street

And you better get out

Of the fucking road

Before I Stonewall you

Teachers shouldn’t tell students

That straight people exist

Age inappropriate talk

Should be banned

Along with books

Pushing the heterosexual agenda

Outrageous propaganda!

Sports should be

For trans people only

The cis can’t play as their own gender

Maybe on a different team

Just for them

Why should we make room

For a minority?

We’re already standing shoulder to shoulder

Any closer, you’d have to dive

Into the deep end

And of course, if the cisgenders win

They’ll need to be investigated

Because that’s unfair

And unacceptable

Unless they have a losing streak

So many straight people EVERYWHERE

Almost like they’re following a trend

They won’t exist for long

Once this dies out

They’ll kill themselves off for us

Just watch—I promise

Heterosexuality is a mental illness

Staying the same gender is a delusion

You should really go through therapy

To convert you to the gay cause

Churches should be preaching passionately:

Marriage should only be between

A man and a man

Or a woman and a woman

You go against my religion

You’ll burn for eternity

For your wicked perversion

But I’ll be your friend

To slowly break you down

Sow seeds of doubt

And drag race you down to the dark

Double cross dress my heart

And hope to make you cry

Love the believer, hate the belief! ✌🏻
