Inspired by recent events

Left: 750 migrants crossing the Mediterranean Sea

Right: The Titan submersible carrying 5 men

5 filthy rich men

Get lost in a submarine

On a mission to gawk

At the Titanic remains

International outrage

The remains, a mass grave

For those too poor to escape

“Go back from where you came!”

They warned

750 refugees capsize

Escaping their pasts

Desperately sailing toward

A safer, more secure future

Collective apathy

Hundreds of casualties

Yet another tragedy

Fallout from war

Rich men started

The sea

Swelling with the blood

Of those too poor to escape

Too dark, too enslaved

Wrapped the rich men in her fist

Laughed and roared,

“You think you can tame me?

You think you can conquer my waters?”

Trapped in the one situation

They couldn’t buy their way out of

Their charm and egos meant nothing

Powerless to the might

And vengeance of the waters

They polluted

She ate the rich

Burped and left only crumbs

On the burial grounds

They haunt now too

And billions sigh in relief

How’s that karma taste?

RIP to the countless victims

Of arrogance and greed

But there will be no rest

For the wicked
