When the black devil anglerfish

Arose from the depths

Off the coast of Spain

Just to die

When she breached the surface

I wonder if she was escaping

Her predatory past, perhaps

Or just so determined

To explore the unknown

Investigate the rumors of dry land

And bring back the most epic adventure tail of all

That the risk was worth the reward

She finally was blinded by a light

She didn't have to make

I hope while her light was fading

She thought, "It's so beautiful...I would've never known."
